"Take Influence from real life"

Today we interviewed one of the third years for the professional studies module. I found this extremely useful as it removed many doubts I had about myself and how the course would progress throughout the years. The main part of this interview I found interesting was "take influence from real life". This was important to me, as when given a project I find it quite hard to at first engage and think oh.. I have to do this.. and this.. and trying to find subject around that area, rather than just taking influence from things which I know and am already very aware about. This piece of advice would be the most useful for future projects, as a blank white piece of paper can often be intimidating to me.
